Vanilla Coffee Apples


Try this delicious twist on baked appes with coffee and vanilla added to the mix.

The ingredient of Vanilla Coffee Apples

  • 1 vanilla bean cut in half lengthwise
  • 2 tbsp instant coffee granules
  • 1 cup caster sugar
  • 4 royal gala apples unpeeled cut into thick slices see note
  • olive oil cooking spray
  • honey yoghurt to serve

The Instruction of vanilla coffee apples

  • preheat oven to 200c using a sharp knife scrape seeds from vanilla bean place vanilla seeds and bean coffee sugar and 3 cups water in a large saucepan stir over low heat for 3 to 4 minutes or until sugar dissolves bring to the boil over high heat reduce heat to medium low and simmer for 10 minutes or until syrup reduces by half
  • meanwhile heat a chargrill or frying pan over high heat lightly spray both sides of apple slices with oil cook in batches for 2 minutes each side or until light golden transfer to a baking tray and bake for 8 minutes or until tender
  • place apples into bowls and spoon over syrup serve with yoghurt
