Give these caramel pork meatballs a try next time youre craving Vietnamese food - they are easy to make and packed with aromatic flavours.
The ingredient of Easy Vietnamese Style Caramel Pork Meatballs
- 1 4 cup rice wine vinegar
- 2 tsp caster sugar
- 1 2 tsp salt
- 1 carrot julienned
- 500g pork mince
- 1 stalk lemongrass white part only finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves crushed
- 3cm piece fresh ginger peeled finely grated
- 1 4 cup finely chopped fresh coriander leaves
- 1 3 cup dried breadcrumbs
- 1 egg lightly beaten
- 1 tbsp peanut oil
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1 long red chilli thinly sliced
- 1 lebanese cucumber cut into long strips
- 1 baby gem lettuce leaves separated
- steamed jasmine rice to serve
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp caster sugar
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- 2 tbsp light soy sauce
The Instruction of easy vietnamese style caramel pork meatballs
- place vinegar sugar and salt in a large bowl stir until sugar dissolves add carrot toss to coat set aside for 20 minutes
- meanwhile combine pork mince lemongrass garlic ginger coriander breadcrumbs and egg in a bowl roll tablespoons of pork mixture into balls
- make caramel sauce combine honey sugar fish sauce soy sauce and 1 4 cup water in a jug
- heat oil in a large frying pan over medium high heat add meatballs cook turning for 5 minutes or until browned all over add honey mixture cook turning meatballs occasionally for 5 minutes or until meatballs are cooked through and sauce thickens slightly stir in lime juice sprinkle with chllli
- add cucumber and lettuce to carrot mixture toss to combine serve meatballs with rice and salad
