Jam Omelette


For a sweet breakfast treat, try this jam and cream omelette.

The ingredient of Jam Omelette

  • 4 eggs separated
  • 1 tbsp caster sugar
  • 2 tbsp thick cream plus extra to serve
  • 25g unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp strawberry jam
  • 2 tbsp icing sugar to dust

The Instruction of jam omelette

  • preheat grill to high
  • beat egg yolks sugar and cream in a bowl until pale in a separate bowl beat egg whites until soft gently fold into the yolk mixture
  • melt the butter in a 20cm frying pan and when it begins to foam pour in the egg mixture cook over low heat for 1 2 minutes until the base is set and it comes away from the sides
  • place under the grill 10cm away from the heat and cook for 2 3 minutes or until just set
  • meanwhile heat the jam in a pan over low heat and then spread over the omelette fold in half dust with icing sugar slice and serve with the extra cream
