Cool down with this classic gin and citrus drink sweetened with sugar syrup.
The ingredient of Tom Collins
- ice cubes to serve
- 30ml gin
- 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
- 2 thin lemon slices halved
- 1 glace cherry
- chilled mineral water to serve
- 100g 1 2 cup caster sugar
- 125ml 1 2 cup water
The Instruction of tom collins
- to make the sugar syrup place the sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat and cook stirring for 5 minutes or until the sugar dissolves bring to a gentle simmer simmer without stirring for 5 minutes or until the syrup thickens transfer to a heatproof bowl set aside to cool
- fill a serving glass with ice cubes pour over the gin lemon juice and 1 2 tablespoons of sugar syrup add the lemon slices and cherry and stir until well combined
- top with mineral water stir and serve immediately
