Tom Collins


Cool down with this classic gin and citrus drink sweetened with sugar syrup.

The ingredient of Tom Collins

  • ice cubes to serve
  • 30ml gin
  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 thin lemon slices halved
  • 1 glace cherry
  • chilled mineral water to serve
  • 100g 1 2 cup caster sugar
  • 125ml 1 2 cup water

The Instruction of tom collins

  • to make the sugar syrup place the sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat and cook stirring for 5 minutes or until the sugar dissolves bring to a gentle simmer simmer without stirring for 5 minutes or until the syrup thickens transfer to a heatproof bowl set aside to cool
  • fill a serving glass with ice cubes pour over the gin lemon juice and 1 2 tablespoons of sugar syrup add the lemon slices and cherry and stir until well combined
  • top with mineral water stir and serve immediately
