Spiced Chai Tea


Darjeeling tea is a delicate and aromatic black tea from North East India. If you cant find it, use a good-quality loose-leaf black tea instead.

The ingredient of Spiced Chai Tea

  • 2 small oranges thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp cardamom pods
  • 12 cinnamon sticks
  • 6 whole star anise
  • 2 tbsp whole cloves
  • 1 tbsp allspice berries
  • 1 tbsp fennel seeds
  • 1 tbsp coriander seeds
  • 75g darjeeling loose leaf tea

The Instruction of spiced chai tea

  • preheat the oven to 100c 80c fan forced place a wire rack over a large baking tray
  • place the orange slices on the prepared rack bake turning the slices every 20 minutes for 2 hours or until dried set aside to cool completely
  • place the cardamom cinnamon star anise cloves allspice fennel and coriander in a frying pan over medium heat and cook stirring for 3 4 minutes or until aromatic set aside to cool
  • combine the spice mixture orange and tea in a bowl divide among airtight containers or tea bags and wrap up as a gift
